on Maxi Cosi Axiss Car Seats
The Maxi-Cosi Axiss is perhaps one of the most ingenious car seat designs for this decade. Its innovative swivel style allows you to seat your baby with unparalleled ease and speed, whilst still ensuring top quality and safety - qualities recognised by Practical Parenting magazine, who awarded the Axiss a gold medal at this year's show.
As children get bigger, it becomes harder and harder to secure them into their car seats. The Axiss helps with this by turning to face the car doors, either left or right, allowing you to lift your child in and secure the harness without stretching over and ducking your head inside the car. This must be a great help to those of us with back problems. Coupled with the swivel action the Axiss also has belt hooks for keeping any pesky harnesses out of the way whilst you fit your child into the seat. There’s also no need to worry whether the Axiss is secured in position before you move off as it has a colour indicator to confirm the seat is locked in place for driving.

The Axiss comes with an adjustable headrest and harness for maximum comfort and versatility, which means that the car seat will grow with your child, giving you peace of mind that your child is securely strapped in whilst you drive. The Axiss also has eight easily adjustable seating and sleeping positions, ensuring that whatever mood your child is in there is a position that suits them. The eight different positions are adjusted by means of a simple lever at the front of the seat.
The seat itself can be easily attached by means of the traditional 3-point seatbelt system. It has an integral belt tensioning system with automatic locking system to ensure that you get a secure installation.
For additional ease of mind the seat also features a Side Protection System to give additional protection to your child in the event of a side impact.
The Axiss' seat cover is removable for washing, although we do suggest that you buy an extra cover as a spare, just in case you haven’t had time to get it washed and dried or if you just fancy a change of colour.
There are a range of accessories available (sold separately) that will fit the Maxi-Cosi Axiss including a play tray, perfect for making traveling fun for your little one. Easily attached and unattached from the Axiss, it has several different play functions and is machine washable too. There’s also a handy pocket which comes in a range of colours and is perfect for holding your child’s favourite toy, snack or drink. Easy to fit onto your Axiss seat. Finally, for those hot, summer months, there’s a summer cover, made from material that acts by wicking moisture away from your child to keep them comfortable even on hot days. The summer cover fits over the original car seat cover and is washable.

Is the Axiss car seat suitable for my 10 month old?
The Maxi Cosi is a forward facing, Group 1 car seat, so providing that your child weighs somewhere between 9 and 18kg and can sit upright, unaided then it should be fine. One note of caution though, if your child still fits in their rear facing seat (group 0)and has not grown out of it weight or size wise then a rear facing car seat will give your baby greater protection to its neck, spine and head.
